Current planning and licensing issues

Here are some of the key planning and licensing issues in the ward at the moment. Residents may wish to make direct representations to the Council or contact ward councillors.

Orchard Primary School

13/04830/FUL: Orchard Primary on Cotherstone Road has put in an application for the demolition of existing non-listed buildings and the erection of 7 new dwelling houses, including new vehicular and pedestrian access.

Veranda Bar

Following a serious incident which allegedly took place at the Veranda Bar on Acre Lane, the police have referred it to the Licensing Sub-Committee for a review. Details of the review and the police submission are here. A special meeting of the LSC will consider this at 7pm on 6th November at the Town Hall.

Because of the emergency nature of this application, residents only have until Monday 28 October to make representations. Advice is available. To make a representation:
