The woman was allegedly approached by a man she did not know, before being dragged into a secluded area and raped.

Police said the woman they released an image of is seen going into Morley’s Chicken shop on Brixton Hill at around 2.39am, before the attack took place.

A spokesman added: “The woman, who is white and believed to be aged in her mid-20s, was wearing a light coloured dress. As she came out of the shop, she was approached by a man with whom she walks up Brixton Hill towards Streatham.

“The woman may be able to help detectives investigating an allegation of rape committed nearby later that morning.”

A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with rape on Tuesday, August 11, and is due in court in November, police said.
