Talk to Brixton Hill’s police team

Brixton Hill’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, made up of Inspector Steven Boswell, Sergeant Nicholas Head, PC Andrew Burton & PCSO Philip Rostant, are holding ‘street briefings’, outdoor events where local residents can come and meet them to pass on local issues or ask questions.

The next two briefings are:

  • 9pm, Tuesday 5 November on Acre Lane outside Lidl
  • 8am, Saturday 9 November on Acre Lane outside Lidl
  • 2pm, Friday 15 November on Acre Lane outside Lidl
  • 2pm, Saturday 16 November on Acre Lane outside Lidl
  • 2pm, Sunday 17 November on Acre Lane outside Lidl

The next meeting of the Brixton Hill Safer Neighbourhood Panel is on Thursday 16 January at 7pm at the Clapham Park Project, 1-4 Brixton Hill Parade (just to the side of Lisboa Grill).

Latest figures show why we need 100 more police

100-more-police-lambeth-470x260With falling officer numbers and fewer crimes being solved Lambeth Labour is continuing to fight for more police officers to keep our streets safe.

By the time of the next general election the number of Police Officers and Community Police Officers (PCSOs) in London will have reduced by nearly 4,000 compared to March 2010 and the latest figures show that 600,000 crimes went unsolved in London last year – a detection rate of just 22%.
