Launch of Holmewood Neighbourhood Association

Holmewood

A residents’ association has been relaunched to cover the ‘Holmewood’ area – covering Holmewood Gardens and the neighbouring roads of Holmewood Road, Maplestead Road, Cotherstone Road and Rush Common Mews.

The Association initially formed in 1998 and was extremely active for several years. In partnership with the Council it developed and implemented the country’s first ever Home Zone and rebuilt the park playground. The Association relaunched in January and has a website at www.holmewood.org.uk.

Upcoming plans include a tree planting day this Saturday, 20th February.

Brixton Hill councillors look forward to working with the Association and its members.

Welcome to Rosebery and Thornbury Roads Residents’ Association

rosethornWe are very please to welcome a new residents’ association in the ward, covering Rosebery and Thornbury Roads off Kings Avenue. Residents set up the association earlier this week ‘to provide a central place residents can use to share information, discuss issues and initiatives, get support and make a difference.’

RA members now have a website, a Google Group to store correspondence and a Twitter account at @RoseThornTRA.

An email will shortly go out to local residents to outline who the TRA officers are and provide a timeline and hopefully some more information on when the first meeting is to which all residents will be invited.

We look forward to working with the TRA and attending meetings. Since the resurfacing of the roads, we know that parking is a major local concern and we’ll report back to the TRA on progress.
