Next Safer Neighbourhood Panel on 20th October to discuss speeding

Met-Police-logoThe next Brixton Hill Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel meeting takes place on Thursday 20 October at 7pm. The venue is the Clapham Park Project at 1-4 Brixton Hill Place off Brixton Hill, SW2 1HJ.

The panel is an opportunity to discuss local concerns and to and set priorities for the local police team. The agenda will include a discussion on tackling speeding and anti-social driving.

Lambeth Council has awarded £360,000 to Brixton Windmill for the construction of a new education centre.

This year the mill celebrates Brixton Windmill’s 200th birthday* so both the Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) and the Council want to make it a memorable year.

And we’ve managed to do in a big way!

In addition to the many events the FoWG are arranging, the £360,000 the Council is providing will enable the construction of an education centre in Windmill Gardens for the use of the FoWG. Continue reading

As your councillors, we have backed Labour’s drive to improve local schools, including:

  • Ensuring every child in a primary school has access to a free breakfast – an election promise in 2014 that we have delivered.
  • Enabling the expansion of the popular Sudbourne Primary School over the next few years and the opening of the new City Heights Academy in 2013.
  • Helping put Lambeth in the top 10% performing areas in the country, with 90% of all primary schools getting a good or outstanding rating.
